Italian team offers Kobe Bryant 600 thousand dollars per game

Virtus Bologna an Italian team has reportedly forwarded an offer to Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant. According to Bologna Basket site, Claudio Sabatini said that the ace of the Lakers were offered 800 thousand U.S. dollars gross per home game until Nov. 13 or about 600 thousand dollars net. The Italian team is just waiting for a response from Kobe.

NBA Stars photo with Manny Pacquiao

Seems that the NBA Stars has been starstruck with Manny Pacquiao. After the game against the Smart Gilas Pilipinas for an exhibition match up, the NBA stars went to pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao for a photo. Kobe Bryant even approached the pound-for-pound king in the middle of the game and give him a shake hand when Pacquiao arrived in the Big Dome.

NBA Stars won 98-89 over Smart Gilas Pilipinas.

MVP to MVP for an Alley-oop dunk - Kobe to Derrick Rose - SMART Ultimate All Star Weekend 2011

This was one of the highlight during the NBA Stars vs PBA stars exhibition game during the Smart Ultimate All-Star Weekend on July 23 at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines. MVP Kobe Bryant throw it up to another MVP Derrick Rose. An MVP to MVP assist - Kobe to DRose. Very rare indeed.



The NBA stars coached by Kobe himself won the game 131-105. The game became a great show for the Filipino fans as the NBA stars show their flashy moves, shooting skills and jaw dropping slams. It's raining 3 pointers from Kevin Durant and Tyreke Evans while it was a slam dunk show for JaVale McGee who planks Araneta, James Harden and the Derrick Williams.

The NBA Stars will face the Smart Gilas Pilipinas - the national team of the Philippines for another exhibition game on July 24 at 1:00PM Philippine time.

Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul set to play in Araneta at July 23-24

According to the tweet of Talk n Text coach Chot Reyes, Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul will headline a roster of at least eight NBA players who will play an exhibition game against the PBA selection team at the Araneta Coliseum on July 23 and 24. Other NBA stars mentioned in his tweet are Tyreke Evans,Deandre Jordan,James Harden and Derrick Williams.

Chot Reyes also posted the prices of the tickets for the game: Patron P5500 Lower Box P3800 Upper A 1500 Upper B 800 GA 350.

However according to interaksyon.com who try to inquire the ticket from Ticketnet, July 23 and 24 are indeed blocked off for an “NBA-PBA” game, but added that “there are no details yet” and that they are not yet selling tickets as of Friday noon.

Kobe Bryant play basketball in Philippines

The 5-time NBA Champions and LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant recently visited Philippines as a part of his Nike Asian Tour. It was his third time visiting the Philippines and for the first time Kobe played basketball against the RP National Team. Just eight minutes left in the game Kobe couldn't just sit beside the bench and watch the action ended without putting up a show. Kobe took FEU Tamaraw jersey and put on a show for his Filipino fans.

Lakers won 15th NBA title on a 99-86 victory over the Magic

The Los Angeles Lakers won their 15th NBA championship and their first since 2002, as they beat the Orlando Magic 99-86 in Game 5 of the best of seven of the 2009 NBA Finals. The Lakers took control of the game after making a 16-0 run in the second quarter and leading as many as 10 points.

Kobe Bryant scored 30 points and was named as the Finals MVP to lead the Lakers for its 15th champoinship and it was Kobe's fourth title and first with out Shaq. It was also the 10th ring for coach Phil Jackson who past legendary Boston coach Red Auerbach as the winningest coach in finals history.

Pau Gasol who have limited Dwight Howard's effectiveness in the paint with his great interior defense added 14 points and 15 rebounds, it was also the first ring for Gasol.

Rashard Lewis scored 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Magic who made their first visit to the finals since O’Neal took them there in 1995.

Lakers even the series against the Rockets

After an upsetting loss to the Houston Rockets on their game opener of their 2nd round playoffs series at staple Center the LA Lakers bounced back to even the series. The Lakers beat the Houston Rockets won 111-98 in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal series. Kobe Bryant scored 40 points on 27 shots to help the Lakers and Pau Gasol added 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Ron Artest ejected in the game with 6:57 remaining in the game scored 25 points and Carl Landry added a career playoff-high 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets, who overcame a 14-point deficit in the first half and end up trailing most of the second half. Yao Ming only finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds and got 3 fouls in the first half.

After pointing across the court at Bryant and made a gesture near his throat, Artest was sent off the court. Artest complained that he was elbowed in the throat by Bryant under the basket. Derek Fisher of the Laker was also ejected in the game after he was called for a flagrant foul and received a bloody cut on his head near his right ear colliding with Scola as the Rockets brought the ball up the court.

Bryant, Luis Scola, Luke Walton and Lamar Odom was given a technical fouls prior to the incidents they're involved to.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics also even their series against the Orlando Magic, 112-94 victory. Rondo had 15 points, 18 assists and 11 rebounds for his third triple-double of the playoffs, and House, coming from the bench scored a career playoff high of 31 points.

Howard had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Lewis had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Magic who had a 28 point win against the Celts on their game opener of the Eastern Conference Semi-finals series.

Cavaliers' Lebron James named NBA MVP


Lebron James was the named as the NBA Most Valuable Player this season. James accepted his award at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, the school where he he won three state basketball championships and became a Sports Illustrated cover subject at 17 years old.
James received 109 of a possible 121 first-place votes to easily took the award from Kob

e Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. James gathered 1,172 points in balloting by media members in the U.S. and Canada.

Bryant who was the last years MVP got two first-place votes and only finished at second with 698 points. Miami guard Dwyane Wade with 680 points and was named first on seven ballots falls onky on third place. Dwight Howard of Orlando Magic was fourth with 328 points and followed by New Orleans guard Chris Paul with 192 points.

James averaged 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists this season and the first Cavaliers to won the award. James is the youngest player to win the award at 24 years, 106 days since Moses Malone (24 years, 16 days) in 1978-79, Wes Unseld at 23 when he won it in 1968-69.
