More than 80 lovely candidates from more than 80 countries will be gathering in this one prestigious event who will be vying for one title - the Miss Universe crown - the most coveted crown for that has been dreaming off by every ladies in the world. The 80 candidates will be judged in three different categories which includes swimsuit, evening gown and the interview. The Miss Universe organization has also opened an online fan voting for the first time to give fans a chance to choose a candidate that will advance into the semifinals. The contestant with the highest average score will earn the spot and the winner will be announced during the pageant day.

Natalie Morales and Andy Cohen will co-host the pageant night. Morales is a returning co-host and she currently a news anchor for NBC’s “Today” while Andy Cohen an executive producer of “Watch What Happens: Live,” Bravo’s late night will co-host the event. Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete was the Miss Universe 2010 winner during a pageant that aired Monday night on NBC. Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps was named first runner-up during the pageant while second runner-up was Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell. Navarrete is Mexico's second Miss Universe; Lupita Jones of Mexico won the title in 1991. Navarerete replaces Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.

The final five has been revealed after after swimsuit and evening gown competitions. Now, it's all about their interview skills. The five lucky candidates includes: 22-year-old Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete, 19-year-old Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell, 24-year-old Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, 23-year-old Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska and 22-year-old Miss Philippines Venus Raj.

Contestants from Ireland, Albania, South Africa, Guatemala and Puerto Rico were ousted Monday night after walking a Las Vegas stage in long, flowing gowns. Meanwhile, Campbell won the Miss Congeniality Universe award. Miss Thailand Fonthip Watcharatrakul won Miss Photogenic Universe and a second award for having the best national costume.

After the swimsuit competition 10 contestants remain in the hunt for the Miss Universe title. The top 10 finalists includes 20-year-old Miss Ireland Rozanna Purcell, 24-year-old Miss Albania Angela Martini, 22-year-old Miss Philippines Venus Raj, 24-year-old Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps and 22-year-old Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete. Other canditates made it to the top 10 are: 22-year-old Miss South Africa Nicole Flint, 20-year-old Miss Guatemala Jessica Scheel, 19-year-old Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell, 23-year-old Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska and 21-year-old Miss Puerto Rico Mariana Paola Vicente.

Eliminated from the top 15 are from Belgium, France, Russia, Colombia and the Czech Republic.

Miss Venezuela is the 2009 Miss Universe winner

2009 Miss Universe result - Miss Venezuela - Stefania Fernandez won the 2009 Miss Universe beauty pageant, bested other young lovely ladies from about 80 countries. Miss Universe 2009 was held in Nassau, Bahamas Sunday night with a musical performances by Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland.

Top five contestants also includes Miss Dominican Republic Ada Aimee de la Cruz, who is first runner-up, followed by Kosovo, Australia, and Puerto Rico.

Miss China, Wang Jingyao, was named Miss Congeniality and Miss Thailand, Chutima Durongdej, won Miss Photogenic.

Reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela turn over the crown to the new Miss Universe winner.

Watch Miss Universe 2009 live telecast. The biggest and the most glamorous event, which features some of the most beautiful women in the planet will takes place at Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas on August 23rd.

Co-anchor of Access Hollywood Billy Bush and Claudia Jordan of Celebrity Apprentice and Deal or No Deal, will host the pageant. Flo Rida will perform his successful hit Right Round and Jump during the Swimsuit Competition. Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland is also set to perform on the pageant show.
