Vic Chesnutt dead - confirmed

Vic Chesnutt, a singer and a song writer has passed away after a apparent suicide attempt. Vic Chesnutt has been in a wheelchair since a car accident when he was 18. Singer Kristin Hersh told about his condition in the internet, and her what she says:

“Another suicide attempt, looks bad, coma–if he survives, there may be brain damage, This time, it’s real scary: *this* time, he left a note, *this* time, he asked them to call me.”

Chesnutt was born on November 12, 1964 and he was writing songs from his early age but he became popular with the release of the tribute album Sweet Relief II: Gravity of the Situation. He joined the band, The La-Di-Da’s in 1985 and after leaving the band he started solo performance. Chesnutt was the subject of PBS documentary, “Speed Racer” not only this he also performed a small role in the movie Sling Blade by Billy Bob Thornton in 1996.

American Music Awards 2009 winners | AMA Awards 2009 live performances

Taylor Swift top the American Music Awards 2009 winning 5 awards, including the Artist of the Year she beat the King of Pop Michael Jackson who won 4. Swift was also named favorite female pop/rock and country artist and favorite adult-contemporary artist. Her album, "Fearless," won favorite country album. The night has been highlighted by the live performances of the biggest names in music. Adam Lambert closed the show with an S&M-themed, sexually charged performance. Lady Gaga featured a jaw-dropping performance with her Vulcan-inspired headdress and vest filled with lights, she broke a glass case where a grand piano stood using her microphone. It caught fire when she sat down to play. Black Eyed Peas, who won pop/rock band give spark to the crowds with their "I Got A Feeling" and "Boom Boom Pow" performances. Also, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z dueted on their ode to New York City. Shakira was flanked by a dozen dancers in tiny black bodysuits as she sang her new single. Kelly Clarkson performed a stripped down version of her hit "Already Gone," backed by a string quartet.

Watch BET Hip Hop Awards 2009 which held at Atlanta's Boisfeuillet Jones Civic Center last October 10 but it will be aired on Tuesday,October 27 at 8PM ET on BET network. Kanye West who became very controversial after interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at 2009 MTV VMAs topped the BET Hip Hop Awards nominations with 9 nods. This includes, Best Hip-Hop Collaboration, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, Producer of the Year, CD of the Year, MVP of the Year, Hustler of the Year, the Made-You-Look Award (for style) and People's Champ. One of the highlight of this big event is the giving of "I AM HIP-HOP" Icon Award to Hip-Hop artist Ice Cube. 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards will be hosted actor and comedian Mike Epps with a performances from the likes of Jay Z and Young Jeezy, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Monica and other big names in Hip Hop.
